OUR CLASSES

We offer two exceptional Programs for Self-Defense. Taekwon-Do for unarmed defense, Kali-Arnis for Weapons-based defense.

 Taekwon-Do Programs

ITF Taekwon-Do is our choice of style for unarmed self-defense. It is literally the “art of kicking and punching”. Tae kwon do is characterized by the extensive use of high standing and jump kicks as well as punches and is practiced for sport, self-defense, and spiritual development.

♦ The Little Dragons Program (Age 4-6 years old) Experience an introduction to taekwon-do in this fun filled, fast-paced class designed for your preschooler! This class promotes inner strength while increasing confidence in physical and social abilities. Students learn new skills through gameplay as well as formal ITF Taekwon-do instruction.

♦ The ITF Program (Age 7 and Up) This 10-level belt system is based on the teachings of the founder of Taekwon-do General Choi Hong Hi. We practice the Chang Hun Style of Taekwon-do which is also called the traditional style. Students learn new skills as they go up the ranks from white belt to black belt. Classes are separated by age for sparring and by belt level for patterns.

♦ The Adapted Special Needs Program (For Students with Disabilities) On the surface there appears to be an inherent contradiction between a physical disability and martial art. However, this view fails to recognize the underlying philosophical orientation of this martial art and the advances it permit to personal growth and development when commitment is applied. The special needs program is slightly modified to adapt to the needs of the students.
Arnis-Kali Programs

The National Martial Art of the Philippines, it is characterized as sabre play using wooden canes. Practitioners are noted for their ability to fight with weapons or empty hands interchangeably. Weapons-training takes precedence because of the it edge  gives in real fights.

Bagani Kali Combatives Canada follows the Lightning Scientific Arnis system. It revolves around the concept of intercepting and redirecting attacks and blind-siding the opponent by going to the off-side and blanketing him with a barrage of continuous strikes while the checking hand constantly pushes, presses and controls his opponent putting him in a constant state of imbalance.

The FMA or Filipino Martial Arts, like many other martial arts, is a system with numerous branches. Depending on the major island, where the art is practiced, the instructor may call it Arnis (Luzon), Eskrima(Visayas) or Kali(Mindanao) The term Arnis, came from the term “Arnes de mano,” meaning “armour of the hands.
