ITF Program -Youth and Adult Course (7+)

ITF Program - Taekwondo
The International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) is an international organization founded on March 22, 1966, by General Choi Hong Hi in Seoul, South Korea. It was founded to promote and encourage the growth of the Korean martial art of Taekwon-Do. Fast forward to the present, our school is now one of the thousands of ITF schools in the world. We are proud to say that everywhere you go, even on vacation, you can find a school who would be willing to take you in for a training visit.

The ITF program course syllabus was created by highly qualified and experienced masters and instructors and great emphasis was taken on making sure that students learn in a systematic and methodical way. Advancement in rank is based on merit and at the student’s own pace. From the very first day, we treat our beginners the same way we treat our champion competitors and blackbelts, giving them utmost attention and focus on their improvement, physically as well as morally.

There are 10 levels of advancement as a coloured belt from White Belt to Black Stripe Belt and 9 dans as a Blackbelt. Coloured belt students usually advance on each level within 3 to 6 months depending on the student’s dedication, maturity and motivation. If they train hard, and they perform better than expected during grading, some students have been rewarded with a double promotion.

Classes usually start with cardio exercises and stretching followed by lessons on fundamental movements such as hand and foot techniques. Sparring days are mostly concentrated on developing fighting skills, including speed and power training. Patterns days are concentrated on proper technique execution, balance and flexibility, as well as self-defence techniques. All classes are kept in a pace that keeps the students interested as well as motivated to learn new things.
