Theory and Fitness
- Taekwon-Do: “Tae” means jumping, breaking, or kicking with the foot; “Kwon” means to punch, destroy, block using the hand or fist. “Do” means an art or way. Way meaning taekwondo is not just kicking and punching, it is a way of life.
- Walking stance: Length is 1 1/2 shoulder width from bigtoe to bigtoe. Width is 1 shoulder width between the insteps.
- Sitting Stance: Width is 1 and a half shoulder widths between the big toes.

Fitness 30 Jumping Jacks, 10 burpees, 10 Squat kicks
Foot Techniques / Stances
- Using the left foot, Step forward to a walking stance, turn Right then step back to a walking stance. (Video is in mirror)
- Crescent Kick
- Hooking kick
Hand Techniques
- Inner forearm Block (cross under other arm)
- Outer forearm Outward Block (cross on top back to back)
Pattern #4 Saju Jirugi Left Side
After Pattern #3. Count to 3 then go back to Ready Position
No. of movements.:7 steps each side
- Left middle punch, move forward Left walking stance
- Turn Right, Move left leg back right low block
- Move Left leg forward to walking stance, left middle punch.
- Turn Right, Move left leg back right low block
- Move Left leg forward to walking stance, left middle punch.
- Turn Right, Move left leg back right low block
- Move Left leg forward to walking stance, left middle punch.
At grading, student must be able to perform Saju Jirugi (Pattern #3 and #4 continuously).

- Body (Collar bone, Solar Plexus, Lower Abs, Floating Ribs, Kidneys)
- Legs (Groin, Hamstrings, Knee, Ankles, Toes)
